Northern Winter Challenges and Beauty – VIDEO
Yay, finally, the new YouTube video is ready and published! The previous one—a fully finished video about the kaamos season—disappeared when my hard drive broke, and I lost six months of work. All the photos, videos, music—gone. Poof.
But let's focus on the positives and moving forward. I film almost every day, capturing small clips here and there. Sometimes, I go on specific filming trips. Editing feels like putting together a puzzle; figuring out which piece fits where to make the story and atmosphere come across just as I experienced it. Music choices play a big role—I get so inspired when I find the right track, and it really pushes the emotion and mood forward.
I sometimes get asked where the music comes from. It’s all from a Swedish service called Epidemic Sounds. High-quality, diverse music, and I always find something that fits my ideas. I've also started making my own music. It’s a slow process, but I want to keep developing it. I plan to make future videos with my own music. Exciting!
Now, onto the much-talked-about and promised video. In it, I share what it's like to live and exist in the northern cold and the beauty that frost and Arctic conditions create. This time, there’s also a lot more of my own voice in the video. Speaking to the camera was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon got the hang of it. Thankfully, I can film and chat away in the middle of nature with no one around to watch or wonder what I'm doing.
I hope you enjoy the video, and I’d love to hear what you think ☺️
