Pallas's Midnight Sun, music from Lapland - VIDEO
I’ve started making music. Very slowly and with very vague and undefined results. The last time I made my own music was when I was in high school. I miss that time. I didn’t know anything and didn’t define what I was doing based on whether it was right or fit into a certain genre. I just created.
The main thing is to create. The end result is rarely what you expect it to be. It’s never finished, and in my case, it’s never good enough. But I’m learning that it doesn’t matter. As long as you create. At some point, you just decide, "This is it for now, let’s move on to the next."
The song began when I was playing around with vocal tracks in a music production program. I came up with multiple melodies that kind of fit together, and yet didn’t. I didn’t think too much, just sang and recorded them all. The next day, I rearranged the pieces and added sounds in the background. Creativity is largely about playing.
I filmed the video during Pallas’s midnight sun, in the light of the midnight sun on a July night, as I mentioned in a previous post. It was an unbelievably beautiful night, where the sun glowed with a golden hue on the other side of the fells, illuminating the landscape for tens of kilometers.
So, here’s my own music and a video of Pallas’s midnight sun.
