Van life Finland – The Magic of the Midnight Sun – VIDEO
Hello, it’s me. I’m somewhere between Inari and Nellim, near the Russian border zone. I’ve found myself stuck here at the eastern border for some unknown reason. The yellow border zone signs often flash past the car window as I drive along small gravel roads, where I wish I had a spare tire with me. But I don’t. It would be quite a walk if the tire blew or the car broke down. There’s often no internet or even phone service. But oh well. So far, everything has gone perfectly fine. Bertta keeps going, the road is long and mostly deserted, and the northern sun is surprisingly hot, day and night.
I’ve made a new video about traveling under the midnight sun. I hope you enjoy it 🤗💛
Next, I’ll head toward the Tsarmitunturi wilderness, where I’ll hike with Papu for a few days, just the two of us. I’m planning to start the hike at night, since it’s nearly +30 degrees Celsius during the day. Phew. I left my compass at home, so I replaced it with a new one from a store in Ivalo. It’s probably a good idea to have one when heading into a pathless wilderness. Luckily, I already have the map.
With hugs, Sanna
